The Evans Financial Story

Evans Financial was founded in 2008 to bring professional financial planning and investment management to families in southwest Virginia.  Coming from a legacy of providing insurance solutions, Evans Financial is in a unique position to help their clients both preserve and grow their assets.

Today, with Capital Management Group, Evans Financial is a leading provider of comprehensive private wealth management.  They thrive on elite service, ongoing education, and working in the best interests of their clients.

Billy Evans

Financial Advisor

Billy was born and raised on a farm in rural southwest Virginia and grew up working in his family’s beer and wine wholesale distribution business. Instead of joining the family business, Billy pursued his passion for investments and financial planning, starting with an insurance-only advisor in 2005, then launching Evans Financial in 2010. When not at the office, Billy enjoys working on the family farm and spending time with his wife, Jessi, and three children, Maggie, Will, and Blaine.

Independent Advisement Representative & Office Manager

Beth has been working with Billy since 2011. She lives in Sugar Grove, Virginia on her family farm and enjoys the outdoors and spending time with friends and family.

Billy is a native of Sugar Grove. He graduated from James Madison University with a degree in finance. Billy worked as a broker in the Washington D.C. area before returning home over twenty years ago to run his family’s business… the famed Shirley’s Market, which his family owned and operated for 50 years.

Billy Johnson will work alongside Billy Evans to assist clients, assuring we maintain the highest customer service to all our clients and their families.

Billy enjoys hiking and traveling with his family, and tries to spend every spare moment he can with their granddaughter.

Marketing Director
Bradley is working with us to expand our service area and improve our marketing strategies. Bradley is a full time fire fighter in Roanoke Virginia and lives in Rural Retreat VA. He is a great handyman and keeps our office running mechanically and technically. Bradley enjoys camping and spending time with his wife and 2 girls.

Kristina joins us from the banking industry where she worked for 6 years. Her smile and desire to always put the client first is an asset to our office. She has a passion for finance and people which is a great combination for a successful financial office. Kristina loves to spend time outside on her farm and with her husband and two children.

Melanie was born and raised in Austin, Texas, but has family roots in Southwest Virginia.  With a love for the mountains and their people, Melanie attended Emory and Henry College.  After a teaching career and living in several other states, a life-long dream was fulfilled when she moved to Marion in 2015. 

First a client, Melanie is excited to be a part of the Evans Financial Team to work alongside talented people and serve all of EFS’ amazing clients.
